You know the cold brew craze took off once Starbucks added it to the menu! Anyone that knows me knows I love coffee and going out for coffee dates is high on the list! (Along with donut, taco and yoga dates)
As much as I enjoy a cup of joe I really love making it at home! We love coffee so much in our house that we have four different ways to make it, and none being your standard coffee pot 🙆🏼
Back to the subject of this post - Cold Brew! Cold brew is a way to brew coffee without heating up the water. Using cold h20 it is less acidic and brings out a different flavor profile.
I make mine in a cool contraption that I received for my birthday this past year, but I used to brew in a simple mason jar.
Here is the how ☕️
You will need 3 oz of coursely ground coffee and 2 cups of cold (i use filtered) h20. Place the grounds in a 1qt jar or pitcher, add the water and stir. Cover with lid or plastic wrap and place in fridge or room temp for 12-24 hours.
Have a separate container on hand to pour cold brew concentrate into. Using a coffee filter or fine mesh strainer, pour the coffee into new container . Enjoy or cover and refrigerate up to 5 days.
For this concentrate you can dilute with water, milk, non dairy alternative etc. Add ice, funky straw and ta daaa ✨
